The Gay UK Sailing Team (GUST) was formed as a vehicle to provide a comfortable environment, where people from the Gay & Lesbian communities, as well as their supporters, can participate in world-wide competitive sailing events including international LGBT events such as the Gay Games, EuroGay Cup, Mardi Gras Regatta and Stonewall Regatta. As well as UK regattas such as Cowes Week, The Round the Island Race and other Solent events as well as dinghy sailing on the Thames in London. GUST is one of the founder organisations behind the international gay and lesbian sailing organisation, GLORY (Gay and Lesbian Organisation for Racing and Yachting) which was formed in Sydney during the Gay Games .
