still up to date. The group offers the chance of playing tennis to LGBT players and their friends in a safe friendly environment. We also organise social events, tennis coaching, and international competitions. website: www.northernacestennis.com The aims of the Group as set out in the Constitution are "To provide the means for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) persons to play tennis". We hope, however, that we do much more than that, and that people can come along to play and improve their tennis in a friendly, relaxed and sociable atmosphere. The Group runs a weekly Saturday afternoon tennis session at Sportcity, provides professional coaching and organises both internal and international tennis tournaments. Group members also frequently travel elsewhere in the UK, as well as overseas to compete in International GLBT tournaments. This year for the first time the Group will also provide players for the Manchester and District Tennis League, which it is hoped will be the stepping stone to entering a Northern Aces team in at least one local league. Northern Aces has expanded rapidly over the last few years holding our own international tennis competition as well as attending and winning many medals at other international tournaments. The Manchester International Tournament for 2007 will be held at Sportcity 17th to 19th August 2007, registration opens April 2007 date to be confirmed. We look forward to hearing from you!
