Tennis London International was formed in 1995 to provide an environment for lesbians and gay men to pay social and competitive tennis in London. Since then we have established regular social tennis evenings, a number of local tournaments and an international tournament which attracts over 200 players from all over the world. Tennis London International is a part of an international group of lesbian and gay tennis groups called the GLTA. Tennis London has a wide membership of over 100 people.

General Information

Weekly social doubles play
Tennis London meets every Sunday evening at the Westway Tennis Centre (directions below), where we play social doubles for 4 hours. You are welcome to come along and join us as an occasional visitor or to join Tennis London as a regular member. Player ability ranges from intermediate to advanced club level standard. When you come down you pay at the club's table in the lounge area, not at the tennis centre reception. Contact us by phone or email to confirm times.

International Tournament
Our annual international tournament takes place each July at courts in central London and starts and ends with a party for all the players! At the last tournament we had over 200 participants from countries all around the world and managed to raise £1000 for the clubs designated charity. Divisions fill up early so it is worth registering your interest early by contacting the club or submitting your details through our website.

Overseas tournaments
As well as organising one of the Gay Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) international lesbian and gay tournaments, club members also travel to Europe and North America to participate in other GLTA events. Tennis London regularly sends a large team to the events in Amsterdam, Milan and Munich and increasing to events in Florida and Washington DC.

Singles Ladder
Tennis London International also organises a tennis singles ladder. The ladder runs from January to June and July to December each year with a prize for the winner of each period. You can join at any time during those periods. The ladder is free of charge to club members and five pounds for each half-year for non-members.

Social tournaments
Tennis London also organises several social tournaments, including:
- a May Bank Holiday singles tournament, to blow those winter cobwebs off and kick start the summer season
- the Federation Cup each August Bank holiday weekend, which is a 16 team format event of singles and doubles play

Other social activities
In addition to these activities Tennis London also organises coaching weekends at professional tennis academies, visits to ATP and WTA tournament and away from the tennis courts other social activities for its members.

How to find us
You will find Tennis London at the Westway Tennis Centre, 1 Crowthorne Road, London, W10 6RP each Sunday evening.
The closest tube station is Latimer Road. Turn right out of the tube exit, turn left at Darfield Way (the second turn on the left), and follow Darfield Way round until you see the tennis centre under the Westway motorway flyover. The centre is less than 5 minutes' walk from the tube. Off-street parking and a pay-and-display car park are available next to the sports centre.
