London Spikers Volleyball Club. (LSVC)

Spikers started as "Spiker Studs" back in 1995 as a cute name to rhyme with our sisters in their volleyball club "Dynamo Dykes". The club began life as a casual drop in play session and has grown into a much liked fixture of London's Gay Lifestyle.

Spikers has a long traditional history of being a friendly diverse place for men from around the world. It is probably the most diverse group of sporting gay men in the country and its members are proud of the friendships and team work that this diversity inspires.

The club has players who range from Beginners, through to the Advanced London Premier League.

Our yearly activity program includes

- Indoor training & Competition in London League (Sept to May)
- Outdoor Recreation Play (May to September)
- Year round weekend Tournaments in Europe and beyond.
- Yearly entry to the European Championships (Euro-games) & 4 yearly entry to the Gay Games.

Spikers is gearing up to invite new members for the start of the next season in September and will be providing coached classes for Beginners & Intermediate ability players, as well as drop-in recreational play sessions. We also welcome very experienced players for our Premier League Advanced Team.

Outdoor Summer Season:
Every Sunday June to August - 2.30pm till Sundown.

We can be found playing on two outdoor courts in Hyde Park. Located inland from Speakers corner, closest Tube is Marble Arch. It has a friendly picnic atmosphere, so feel free to bring food & drink to make your time comfortable.

We keep a Rainbow Flag flying so It's easy to locate and Identify us. The courts attract a number of casual players who love to play volleyball. Some of these players are not gay but like sharing & adding to our fun atmosphere.

Indoor Season:
September to May.

We will have two training/play sessions per week, these are

1. Wednesdays 7pm - 9pm
Court 1 - Intermediate Coached Session
Court 2 - Advanced Training Session

2. Sundays 12noon - 4pm
Court 1 - Beginners Coached Session
Court 2 - Intermediate Recreational Session
Court 3 - Advanced Training & Recreational Session
- Followed by a social Drink (& Food optional) @ local Bar.

New Members
All new members can participate in the club, for their first time, in a Taster session, which is free of charge. After that, they can obtain further membership information from our New Memberships Officer.

We recommend new players to first contact the club and then come along to a Sunday session. Demand may become high and in order to preserve the quality of the sessions, we sometimes have to impose a limit on numbers. However, be reassured, that we will do all that we can to include you.

The New Season
Our new season allows choice between, Training/competition or Recreation Play or both. This will ensure that you will be in a group of likeminded people who have similar expectations of commitment & involvement.

Our existing members enjoy being part of a club that has brought people together for the positive benefits of learning & improving within a sport and in sharing a friendly sociable atmosphere.
